Only guarantees certain generalized suffering for everyone in the future, including other species that cannot adapt to changes in climate as you seem to think humans can. I thought you were supposed to be smart?

Climate change will make your goal decreasingly feasible as civilization gets more and more disrupted by worse and worse weather events. What you're proposing pretty much guarantees all that money you'll spend reducing human suffering now (which we can still do, they're not mutually exclusive things

The problem is that the only lesson the USA, in its current MAGA form, seems to be extracting from China is that they need to be authoritarian and violent social engineering because they just don't actually undertand China

This makes no sense to me, electric mode is 100% electric as long as you have range, at least on my Toyota plug in hybrid it is like that. I can see however people buying a plug in hybrid and not charging it so the full electric mode does not engage.

Hell nah

Yeah, that is definitely another issue that needs to be addressed then, of course. The thing is we also need to avoid the kind of problems we got ourselves into in the previous housing bubble and later crash which were numerous.

We've always had quite a bit of immigration but it has been in the last four years coinciding with Spain and Portugal becoming hot locations for digital nomads etc that prices have shot up like crazy. I think fast construction of public housing should be the focus because regular housing

I think the focus on prefabrication and modernizing the construction industry is more about being able to build faster and better rather than cheaper. In the end prices are high due to a lot of speculation in the market due to the high demand from migrants coming from rich countries.

The government also announced last year this plan to speed up construction by focusing on modernizing building systems and prefabrication which is sorely need. Not like this be the only solution to the problem, of course. Imo affordable housing scarcity is the biggest issue in the country atm

You're definitely right that it's not sustainable but tbh this has been an explosion of immigration from all over the world that was pretty much impossible to predict. I hope there are PhD students figuring out the many factors involved in the current migration patterns because it's all very complex
