A stunning sunset, exactly two years ago. I couldn’t have imagined that I was about to begin witnessing one of the greatest horrors of my life so far: the ongoing genocide by Israel against the Palestinian people in Gaza.

Porto now. Free Palestine.

The ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people in Gaza will go down in history as the greatest shame of our time.

Each day, we learn of new horrors about the ongoing genocide in Palestine. Yet nothing seems sufficient to compel Western governments to take meaningful action to end it. They are dragging us, alongside Israel, to a point of no return.

This image is taken from a short video I watched today. In it, thousands of starving Palestinians fight for food being thrown to them. These Palestinians are human beings fighting to survive. Those responsible for this no longer deserve to be called human.

Reem Zeidan, a Palestinian mother in Gaza, walked for hours with her son and daughter to an Israeli-backed distribution point, only to be killed by a single bullet to the forehead. Her children spent nearly three hours beside her body, pinned down by gunfire. 1/3

Germany’s foreign minister said today in Berlin, with Israel’s foreign minister by his side, that recognising the Palestinian state would send the wrong signal. Germany is heading towards the abyss for the second time in less than 100 years. There can be no forgiveness.

A Palestinian mother holds her child today in Khan Yunis, Gaza, after an Israeli strike on a school sheltering displaced families. At least 18 Palestinians were killed, including several children.

More than 30 Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire today while receiving food at an aid distribution point. After blocking food from entering Gaza for more than two months, Israel is now using food as bait to kill people.

I'm at a loss for words, except to say that we are witnessing the most absolute evil.

14,000 Palestinian babies may die in the next 48 hours. The UN has reported that lorries carrying baby food and nutritional supplies are at the Gaza border, but Israel is not allowing them to enter. How is it possible that no one has taken effective action to stop this?

This is how The Guardian reports the genocidal massacre of the Palestinians in Gaza: "attempt to force release of hostages." This is nothing but complicity.

According to The Lancet, life expectancy in Gaza has dropped by 35 years since October 2023.

Quite the opposite: Pope Francis' moral compass was reinforced by his strong stance over the last 18 months, and no propaganda disguised as journalism can change that. As Hannah Arendt wrote in Truth and Politics, "persuasion and violence can destroy truth, but they cannot replace it."

Nothing will ever erase images like this from my mind. Nothing will make me forget that many white people, like me, are incapable of seeing a mother trying to save her children. A mother like mine, like theirs.

The horror of this: 'Israeli combatants said they were ordered to destroy homes, factories and farmland [...] with one describing the area as looking like Hiroshima.' (The Guardian, 07/04/2025)

We are now at this point: 15 Palestinian paramedics and rescue workers have been killed one by one and buried in a mass grave in Gaza. (source: The Guardian, 31/3/2025)

Palestinian journalist Hossam Shabat was killed by Israel today. This was his last post, for the shame of a world that allows Israel to do this.

In the last 17 months, Israel has killed tens of thousands of Palestinian children in Gaza. Describing the recent killings as 'the largest child massacre in [Israel's] history' makes it seem like an exception, when in fact, this has become the norm. 1/2
