Early November has become incredibly stressful in the last decade. But November 4, 2025 actually gave me the first glimmer of - dare I say - hope? Ooof. That's a tough word for me now. There's still SO much more left to do, but we have to start somewhere.

It’s November 4 - Election Day. I’m completely tapped out, and feeling mistrustful of our system. Everything that has been going on for the last 10 months has made me feel like giving up. But I’m going to vote after work. Let’s see what happens. #vote

Saw this beautiful hornet's nest in a maple tree on a walk tonight. I know people are terrified of these things but I think they're fascinating and weirdly gorgeous.

Spotted lantern fly nymphs all over my grape vines. I’m not sure what to do. They look too numerous to squish, and I don’t want to hurt any pollinators by spraying. Anyone have any advice?

My beautiful mother is officially in hospice care as of today. She has been reluctantly facing down the terror of cancer since July 2020, and decided that there will be no more chemo. She is angry, depressed and bereft. So are we. There is no way of knowing how much time we have now. This sucks

My mom is very sick and has been for several years. It’s strange how a person can become accustomed to terrible news as time rolls on and the tears don’t come as easily. But things have taken a turn lately and seeing a photo like this made me crumble.
