Yeah, there are a plethora of issues from top to bottom with the systems in place. And even if you opt for education and getting saddled with debt, you've still got to make money to eat and live, pay for transport, etc.
And that's still not considering other ripoffs, like unpaid internships.

In 2016, I was making minimum wage at 34 hours a week, and my take home after taxes was less than 200$ each week. And I made too much to qualify for food stamps. And there was no way I was moving up in the world in a *managing* position.

HOWEVER, that's not all the requirements, and what funds are given to individuals on those programs are horrifically insufficient. In my home state, it started at around 200$ per month per adult, and was adjusted down based on your income at a pretty steep rate. (cont.)

Like many others have pointed out, he made a mistake, it's 80 hours per **month** not per week. And per month makes it a bit easier as sometimes there are 5 weeks to a month. (cont.)
