Fire at James St apparently so no trains across the river this morning. Thankfully the ferry is actually running this morning and it’s a beautiful- if crisp - day for it. And because it’s a commuter ferry, we don’t get subjected to THAT song 😂 #merseyferry #activetravel #bikesky #liverpool

Similar vibes to this. It would be perfect if you rotate the bracket.

Vibes, right? 😂

Always is the case. Same for Liverpool from city hall. The only real way of getting people out of cars when considering total potential travel time is to bike; especially in cities.

This isn’t an x city problem. It’s an every city problem. And making cycling safe is the only realistic solution.

Reminder - as frequently pointed out by Surrey Police - high vis does nothing if drivers aren’t paying attention.

It’s that time of year again when “safety” organisations crack out their victim blaming campaigns telling pedestrians and people on bikes to dress for battle rather than their destination and wear high vis clothing to be seen instead of focusing on the real source of danger - drivers.

Hey Daily Mail. You know what really destroys hard work and aspiration? That’s right. House prices that bear no reality with affordability. LVT-style taxes don’t punish hard work and aspiration; they punish greed.

It wasn’t those that got house owners that “wealth”. It was the year they were born.

I mean, brick was a bad choice here too 😂

That’s literally just behind where I took the first picture.

I remember on holiday in Cyprus coming across the end of a path and thinking “oh hey, this looks like a US sidewalk” 😂

Yeah, it’s not immediately obvious from the image. Always seems to be the Quakers building that attracts the entitled ones.

Great example of why blue badge holders should have their ability to park on double yellows removed.

They’re double yellows for a reason. And no, you can’t park on the pavement. The only thing you achieved is risking making more disabled people.

Look at those absolute menaces.

But being serious for a minute, your personal experience is actually more likely down to risk aversion. If the roads feel unsafe for the average person, then the type of person you will find cycling tends to be more of a risk takers who can be problematic riders.

Yes, in situations like this. Now if we’re talking about cycling for sport where speeds are far higher, then I am all for them. But when using a bike as a mode of transport? I am absolutely against them. In such scenarios, they are the least effective tool in improving safety.

Guilty as charged 😂

To be fair, I have a client facing role and I ain’t got time to be changing at work 😂

Meanwhile these things are responsible for 400-500% more deaths a year. Which is why I stayed behind my bike while getting them off the road before some idiot in a car came flying down this road like they always do.

We have an anthracite garage door. I would not describe it as masculine. What I would describe it as is a pain in the arse to keep clean.

Wrong. There are houses built on the floodplain nearby, but Vauxhall Close isn't. It's at risk of surface water accumulation because even the environment agency recognises that excess installation of impermeable surfaces risks surface flooding. But surface water risk ≠ being built on a flood plain.

Bloody drivers, ignoring clear traffic orders and dumping their cars wherever they like.

Based pub.

More businesses, especially ones where you spend time there, should offer this. Just a pity none are sold secure gold, which would prevent someone's insurance from paying out if the bike was stolen, but a good start.

Finally!
September 9, 2025 at 4:57 AM
Funny that. Almost like the only appropriate private transport in a city should be a bike.
September 8, 2025 at 1:06 PM
This sort of stupidity is precisely why you shouldn’t be able to disable emergency alerts.
September 5, 2025 at 10:48 AM
The actual fuck Merseyside Police? "Were you wearing a helmet"? Get fucked with your victim blaming. I can see exactly where you're going to go with that information. It's completely irrelevant for a close pass.
