EVERY media outlet should’ve said almost immediately after Trump announced in 2015 that he was a menace & as he advanced toward the nomination should’ve warned the GOP & after the nomination should’ve warned voters. Both his odds of winning & the damage he’d inflict were severely underestimated.

Trump has demolished the Executive Branch. Roberts has demolished the Judiciary. Mike Johnson has demolished the House. Senate Dems’ preserving the filibuster is pathetic and fools no one that the Senate hasn’t already hasn’t been demolished, too. Demolishing the Senate is good actually.

Even without all the illegality and immorality I’ll never understand why the GOP so recklessly let him destroy his competition for the nomination. It also seemed that the Clintons wanted Trump to be the nominee. When WI was called for Trump on Election Night 2016 my heart broke as did Karen Pence’s.

This is an easy one to ignore, because only the information formally presented to the Court matters.

We can hope that the “The Big Short” guy, Burry, by betting against Palantir, mitigates any harm Karp causes as CEO of that company. In the meantime, we should probably discount his words, because he’s clearly an opportunist who’s gone all in on Trump.

Reagan said the words “I’m from the government, and I’m here to help you” were dangerous. Dems have been on the defensive ever since. It’s sad to think that the best federal Dems can do now is say “We’re from the federal government. We can’t help you. Perhaps Dem Governors and Mayors can. Good luck”

Dems won’t respect & level with us, because it would mean apologizing for disrespecting & lying to us. “We cared more about our big donors & saving the two-party system. If the GOP won’t reform, it’s wrong to keep helping it, especially when you’re suffering so. We’re sorry. Please help us help you”

Senate Finance Republicans are meeting on health care. It’s comforting to know that this person leads the Democrats on that Committee:
My red line has always been lowering health costs for Americans. Donald Trump and Republicans don’t want an agreement that meets that bar. I’m a no.

Dems hope we’re bluffing and will bash us if we support primary challengers to incumbents. We should ignore them, but, if we must, we should say they chose their fascism-tolerant donors over us, and we’re holding them accountable. Until Citizens United is overturned, no more benefit of the doubt!
November 10, 2025 at 4:04 PM
Dems will accuse primary challengers and their supporters of causing the very disarray the incumbents themselves caused with symbolic showings of backbone. It’s up to more-informed voters to ignore the accusations & help less-informed voters understand that voters have the power to help themselves.

Reagan’s anti-government talk motivated voters even though it was just talk. Presumably, bipartisan consensus about the need to fight the Cold War lowered expectations. Big Money forced both parties to keep expectations low. Trump caused us to see Dems as our last hope & Schumer said “It’s hopeless”

November 10, 2025 at 2:48 AM
Absent a move to remove Schumer as Leader, the message ALL Senate Dems just sent is that they are more afraid of the Big Money propping them up than they are of the voters. It will be a huge challenge to elect 60 reliable true progressives, but that’s the only way out short of a revolution.
November 10, 2025 at 2:38 AM
When I hear a No-voting Dem Senator denounce a Yes-voting Dem colleague, I will credit them, not before. I may settle for Schumer being removed as Dem Leader.

The House CR differs from what the Senate is considering. The bad news of Epstein comes back into play when the House reconvenes and swears in Grijalva.
November 10, 2025 at 2:10 AM
If it were the case that Trump is a literal madman & the national security establishment doesn’t yet know how to remove him without risking uncontrollable global mayhem, too many people would have to know to keep it secret, right? Yet, it’s the only way I can make sense of the caving Democrats.
