The idea could be to change the song to appeal to the original creative direction the artist couldn’t originally convey at the time, or maybe to resell an old idea as “new” but idk awrf :3

Well in my experience I do pick up alternate instruments used, maybe a cleaner voice and sometimes alternate lyrics if need be. An example I can think of is Apple Pie by the Scary Jokes, they remastered the whole album it comes from but that song really does sound cleaner comparatively :3
