On average, over 100 people die in car crashes in the USA every single day.
This frustrates me CONSTANTLY. Especially my one friend who used transit exclusively for the 1st 50 years of her life, but since 2021 refuses to do so based on "safety concerns" and drives instead.
I was listening to a story on NPR this morning about the precautions transit riders are taking in the wake of this murder, and yet millions of people engage in the highly risky activity of driving multiple times a day without a second thought.

None of these entitled assholes ever needs to work another day in their lives, so being at this dinner is entirely their choice.
This is embarrassing.

Trump hosted an oligarchs’ dinner at the White House last night. The main course was kissing his ring.

He’s going to take credit for investment plans they already made.

All kidding about this nonsense answer aside: The regime is asserting the power to murder without trial a boat full of people suspected of drug trafficking, who easily could have been intercepted and arrested instead. That is unconscionable and horrifying even assuming everyone aboard was guilty.
Q: On the Venezuela vessel strike, what legal authority were you guys working under?

JD VANCE: The legal authority is there are people who are bringing -- literal terrorists -- who are bringing deadly drugs into our country

Just a heads up. I was able to schedule my COVID vaccine appointment. Online it will ask “do you have a condition that puts you at high risk for severe outcomes from COVID-19 virus.”

Click yes and it will allow you to schedule an appointment.

No questions asked.

No proof required.

Pass it on.

Old Soviet joke for today:

A man walks into a newsstand every day, looks around, and leaves.

After a long time of this, the owner says “Can I help you find something?”

“I’m looking for the obituaries.”

“The obituaries are in the back of the newspaper, comrade.”

“Not the one I’m looking for.”

The single most important thing to understand about digital futurism is this:

When the digital future that Sam Altman ( or Elon, or Andreessen, etc) predicts fails to materialize, he doesn’t have to give the money back.

1000 times this
motive doesn’t matter. The ease in which this act could be carried out is what matters.
Police in Minneapolis were looking on Thursday for what drove a 23-year-old shooter to open fire on a Catholic church, killing two children as they celebrated Mass and wounding more than a dozen more.

Here are the latest updates.

What the hell? We got it backwards. I want EU standards, damn it.
This is an INSANE decision by the E.U.

“By signing up to mutual recognition of vehicle standards with the U.S., the E.U. has waved the white flag on road safety. This is not a technical detail – it is a political choice that puts trade convenience ahead of saving lives.”

This will kill people.

a) sure they can! They have a year!
b) if not this time, then next; they play the long game a lot better than Democrats
Jeffries: "We were 24 seats down during Donald Trump's first midterm election in 2018. We won 40 seats. There is no way that Republican can mathematically gerrymander their way to an artificial victory next year."
