LOL this happened the other day to me, but it wasn't a dog that tipped the scales, it was a tuxedo cat which is my favorite type of cat (i also have one myself, in fact both my pets are black & white, the dog is a border collie/heeler cross) ... in effort to show both in one photo this is the one:

Awww she's gorgeous! ♥️ I can't imagine a life without cats! This is my Leo (2nd soul cat of my lifetime, don't get me wrong i've had many, many cats but only two where the bond was/is *extra*).
