The lie that the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki was justified is still being perpetrated in the US. We live in a country of cognitive dissonance because we have never grappled with this war crime, nor the racist justification for it. There is a reason they did not drop nukes on Europe.
On August 6, 1945 at 8:15 a.m., the US dropped an atomic bomb on the Japanese city of #Hiroshima, the first time in human history that any country used the unparalleled power and devastation of atomic bombs. The US remains the only country to use nuclear weapons during a time of war.

I understand why folks are reacting like this. But again, this is a temporary pause from a Court that doesn't like having a matter of hours to decide even disputes that we might all think are entirely obvious, and in a context in which it doesn't want to give Trump *any* excuse to not comply.
This right here feels like the end. The Gestapo. We have no rights. Devastating. Can't even imagine their reasoning.

This whole thing was bleak throughout. And had it gone the other way it would have been only slightly less bleak. We face the worlds choices as they come. That's life. The one thing that came out of this that was to me a positive was a window of about 24 hrs when senators were cutting short ...
