Today I celebrate my 57th birthday! In my birthday greetings I was told "21 for life!". And I quickly responded " NO! 45 for life!" When I was in the best shape of my life! When I met the love of my life. Age is a number, live life according to your dreams, not your age! 🙌❤️🎂

This time last year, we were living in NE Arkansas, and we lost everything to a fire. We walked away with our dogs and our lives. It's taken a year to recover here in the Ozarks, where we started anew in a cabin by Bullshoals Lake. Its been a journey of gratitude and new beginnings. God is good. 🙏❤️

Chilly day in the Ozarks, babies from Batch #1 born in October are fully feathered and look like mini clones of their parents. I started with 4 and ended up with 2. I consider that success. Hawks are ever prevelant and guard duty is a must. #ThatOzarkLife

Last cuddle in my husband's house shoes. Batch #2 has successfully graduated from incubator to tote, from tote to big cage outside next to the big chickens coop. Tonite, they will spend their first night in the big coop terrorizing their parents with screams. #ThatOzarkLife

A playful boop to make his babies go into their coop. They are a month old and already look like mini clones of their parents. Chewie splits his duties between the coop babies and his house babies. Always keeping a watchful eye. #OzarkLife

It's that time of night when the babies from batch #1 join Chewie the chicken daddy in the dense yard. Not a thicket or thorn prevents him from nesting down with them to keep an ever protective eye on his kids.

Beautiful 62° sunny day. Chewie is on chicken duty while his babies free range in the kitchen. Just a few more weeks, and they will start their transition to the big coop with the family.
