I disagree about the 50 year mortgage. If you have to spread the price of the loan out over 50 years, you are not able to keep up with the maintenance of the house. That alone will sink you hardest in the long run.

I don't want to follow lists/people only to be inundated with the same content everyone else is posting of the wider US/global crises.
