Hi to all new followers(friends) a quick thread..

I mostly post my camera trap photos and videos though I do meteor photography/timelapse/3D photography too.

It's a pleasure to meet you all here on BlueSky. I'm new here so learning as I go along.

I am very excited about getting my first footage of a cougar. This is a rare sight in Manitoba.

If it sounds like a squeaky dog toy, then it's a good bet it's Flickers!

Female Northern flicker, left, with her daughter from this year.

What a meteor!!

Regular speed video then slow motion and cropped to show it better. SkyCam is doing a top job for me.

Quick timelapse of part of the Northern lights from SkyCam last night.

The Northern lights visible from Southern Colorado tonight. Hand held phone photo. Once eyes were used to the dark the pink color was visible with the naked eye, though not as bright as seen on phone screen.

A couple of raven flight trails over the house this afternoon.

Still working on refining this kind of flight trail video with the equipment I have, it's a fun project for me over Winter.

Slate-colored dark-eyed junco, female northern flicker and black-capped chickadee visiting the birdbath. #birds

The camera temperature sensor reads high as it sits outside in the sun.

We knew something was digging under the railroad tie step, put a piece of wood there thinking it was a rather strong mouse digging holes to get into the house. Put a camera out to catch the little fella only it was an Agent of Chaos! Should have known. 🤣
What did it find to eat? I don't know.

Raven flight trails over the house this morning. One has a piece of meat in its beak.

Still working on a refined process for these videos, coming along...slowly. 😁

Grateful to spend two days on the Klamath watching chinook, liberated by dam removal, return to streams from which they’d been precluded since the Titanic sank. Fish are everywhere, in numbers that stagger the mind & locations that biologists figured would take years to repopulate. Too beautiful.

SkyCam caught 2 taurid/sporadic meteors last night. Full moon.

Raven flight path trail, I like the pattern it makes at bottom left of frame, and a bird 😁. The bird came down right like that, wings folded in and straight down - something about it makes me think Kestrel.

Raccoonosaurus, possibly at the peak of evolution for a raccoon, having a drink. This is one huge raccoon.
Second raccoon is for size comparison as it too gets a drink last night.

Squirrels, along with many other animals that lack full cheeks to create a strong suction seal, rely on physical principles like the meniscus effect (adhesion & cohesion) & inertia to drink water. They don't lap water in the same way as a dog or cat.

Here, we can see the meniscus effect. #mammals

Always great videos and content from Cynthia.

Just love that Varied Thrush, stunning. 😍
for just a second at the beginning of this film, which has a view of mini pond in it, you can see there is a Varied Thrush. #Birds
The spotted towhee, which you will see in the later part of the video might have scared him away

11 hour circumpolar time-lapse video of the apparent movement of the stars around Polaris, the North Star.

No meteors seen, just a few aircraft and satellites.

Buck mule deer, just look at those amazing ears!

You can almost feel the texture of his antlers when he is drinking at the water bowl, with all their ridges and bumps.

A closer look at the orange masterpiece that is the Cat-faced spider. It looks like a sunset or sunrise playing out on its butt (there's a sentence I didn't expect to write).

Cat-faced spider (and magnificent shadow), out for a walk this morning.
