Gonna post some new arrivals in a minute but because we have both of these handy, here's the size difference between a 200mm f2.8L and a 200mm f2L. The weight difference is pretty stark, too: the f2.8L weighs ~850g with hood, and the f2L is ~2.9kg. All for one measly stop! smh

Truly wild to write a review about how a camera's quirks are worth it for the results and then use this image as the only example.

Are you a division of a German lens company trapped behind the Berlin Wall, making lenses similar to Western offerings but locked in a dispute about distinctive trademarks? Sure, we've all been there. Zeiss Jena briefly used this unusual "kite" mark instead of the classic red T to solve the problem.

Reminder that photography is powerful, what you choose to photograph is important, and also that Sneako is a Nazi and this is an ad for a parasitic fintech product run by Palantir & McKinsey alums, so maybe don’t smash that “like” button on your fave’s feed before considering what you’re co-signing.

Nikon's last couple decades of SLR lenses have been a mess for backwards compatibility, but they used to take it really seriously: up to the AF-D series, lens aperture rings had a couple of little divots you could use to drill and attach a pre-AI meter coupling fork.

And I think that's neat.
