The world is on fire, so the least we can do is to stop and think about how we can be careful and inclusive in our own backyard (in this case our disciplines). An ‘excellent conference experience’ is one that makes it easy for our precarious colleagues, students and friend to attend.
Folks, I know there is a lot going on. But real talk, we need to speak about what kind of academia we want to inhabit.

Today's rant: Do we want confs where all our peers can attend or are we happy w elitist spaces that are inaccessible to those most precarious & in need of networks & community?
