Here are some of protagonists in linking Aotearoa's ecosystems: the kererū (Hemiphaga novaeselandiae), a native pigeon; the silvereye (Zosterops lateralis), a small passerine self-introduced from Australia in the XIX century; or also the kea (Nestor notabilis), everyone's favourite mountain parrot!

We found that generalist and widespread species are disproportionately important for propagating biotic effects across landscapes, with the twist that native and exotic species also display differences. For doing all this, we inferred a country-wide spatial network of plant-frugivore interactions

At the SIBECOL conference, besides meeting old and new colleagues and learning a lot, my friend @ylndmc.bsky.social and I won a best poster award for our study on trait distributions - thanks to the organisers for such a nice conference!!
