i think if you want to have those disgusting LED headlights on your car, you should have to do a test where they blast you point blank with your own headlights and then you have 15 seconds to successfully complete some sort of vision-based task, and if you can't do it they push your car off a cliff

Flapjack octopuses (genus Opisthoteuthis) of little cutie patooties. Like other cirrate octopuses, they have fins on their mantle. These fins give them the appearance of having cute little ears.

They get their common name from the fact they like to squish themselves into a flat pose.

A flapjack octopus (Opisthoteuthis sp.) sitting on the seabed. It is adorable, small and squishy, like a mango ice cream scoop with itty bitty "ears" which are its fins. It is moving two of its arms around which make it look like it is rubbing its hand (as if to scheme) A flapjack octopus (Opisthoteuthis cf. californiana) sitting on the sea floor. It is a gelatinous and squishy looking. It is dark orange with some lavender coloured dots on its face, that in at least four columns. It has two fins on the top of its mantle (although one is tucked down) that look like itty bitty ears. You can only barely bake out some of its arms because of how gelatinous it is. Its eye is partly closed, so it looks sleepy which adds to the cute factor. A flapjack octopus (Opisthoteuthis sp.) swimming in the ocean. It has adopted a cone shape, with a concave opening where you can see the underside of its arms. Around the edges the arms are twisted. It has black eyes and mango coloured. You can see one of its two fins flapping, which look like cute tiny ears. A flapjack octopus (Opisthoteuthis cf. californiana) sitting on the sea floor. It has adopted the "flapjack" pose that flapjack octopuses are known for. It has squished itself as flat as possible with its fins tucked down in adorable heap of octopus. It has a honey colour.

If it was possible to just eyeball someone and determine they have "mitochondrial challenges," those of us with ME/CFS, who actually do have wonky mitochondria, wouldn't constantly be told by able-bodied people, including doctors, "But you don't look sick."

r/ChatGPTPro u/vurto • 28d If ChatGPT is not consistently dependable, how are we suppose to use it for actual work? Discussion It's behavior and results can randomly change due to some OpenAl tweaking that's opaque. On some days it can't even keep track of a fresh chat, it can't do calculations, it can't sort through a chat to extract relevant information, and when it's suppose to refer to source material in a PDF, it doesn't. All because OpenAl trained it for fluency and basically to simulate whatever it can for user satisfaction. I can use it for general chats, philosophical stuff, therapy, but nothing serious. I'm pro Al, but I approach it with skepticism knowing it's undependable (as I do with anything I read). And prompts can be interpreted/executed differently across users' own interaction with their Als so it's not truly scalable. How does the business world / leaders expect staff to adopt Al if it's not consistently dependable? It doesn't even calculate like a calculator. If the internet start claiming 2+2=5, that's what it'll answer with. I'd use it for hobbies and pet projects but I can't imagine using it for anything "mission critical".

Can someone in the legacy media explain what the purpose of "viewed as" is in this headline. The character Shylock was anti-Semitic and the term has always been anti-Semitic.

Is WaPo suggesting there is a different way to "view" it? Are they blind to anti-Semitism? Or sucking up to Trump?
