Now, the New York Post has a hit piece out about how the FD didn’t send every fire engine in the city as first first response. During a wind event like this, they ALWAYS set up strike teams in areas where they think (using fire science and experience) the fire will spread next.It’s common practice!

He said they have all the best equipment, technology, gear and training but they should hire more firemen. While they are not understaffed, “recalls” are too frequent (that’s when they call you and you HAVE to show up, no matter what). This had no effect on this fire.

This article is misleading in that it doesn’t tell readers what the “red tape” is that limits controlled burns: They aren’t safe in ultra-dry conditions (because they can easily get out of control) or too close to homes.

Firebreaks don’t work in 100mph winds because embers can travel for miles. They have firebreaks all over in CA. Their fire prevention consultants are top notch and are constantly learning new techniques.

NO ONE SAID IT WAS IRRELEVANT! But, in 100mph winds and dry conditions, the fire wins.

My husband is an LA County firefighter and they do fire prevention YEAR ROUND. They do brush clearances, prescribed burns, fire retardant drops and more. But sometimes Mother Nature wins.

Remember when he tried to do the “Muslim ban?” He bungled it so badly that he gave up. Then he tried to raid Yakla, Yemen to get Al-Qaeda leader, Qasim al-Raymi but failed miserably and a Navy SEAL was killed in the botched op. He never built the wall, etc.

One thing to keep in mind, Trump is fundamentally lazy and just wants to watch TV and tweet. He won’t accomplish anything that takes work from him. Hopefully, his incompetence will prevent true destruction!
