A Mexican woman was grabbed by ICE right after a c section.

She was suffering eclampsia and other complications, and her baby was alone in the NICU

They wouldn’t even give her a breast pump

She has a pending visa for victims of violent crimes… and then ICE committed a violent crime against her.

Agents in Key Largo, Florida ripped this woman wearing medical scrubs out of her car as she screamed she is a US citizen. Agents cuffed her and put her in one of their cars.

She was eventually let go, per David Goodhue of the Miami Herald, who also took this footage:

During the shutdown, the Senate approved adding $32B to Trump's already record breaking $1 trillion Pentagon budget.

The Senate still hasn't voted on extending ACA subsidies — which would cost $35B.

It’s not about what this country can or can’t afford.

It’s about priorities.

In college, I had to read the Department of Defense’s Law of War manual.

I kid you not when I tell you that firing at the shipwrecked is quite literally provided as an example of an illegal order.

In sworn deposition testimony,
Bovino would see video evidence of him slamming someone to the ground and then, w a smirk, say he didn’t do it.

That’s not a one-off. That reflects a culture across all of law enforcement, abetted by the legal syst, that has created a sense of general impunity.

Years ago, AP adopted a policy that when covering police shootings it would not repeat police claims of “fear for their lives” without independent verification bc of how many times they got duped.

DA offices have “Brady Lists” of cops they refuse to put on the stand bc they’ve lied too often.

Social science takes time. Here, social scientists analyze a decade of evidence to show that a Supreme Court decision designed to suppress the black vote actually did. SCOTUS may soon obliterate the rest of the Voting Rights Act and we should not be shy about calling out what's going on here.
As we all wait for Callais to come down, our piece showing that Shelby County increased the racial turnout gap in most of the covered parts of the country has cleared the replication check and is incoming at JOP.
