First projections for Germany's federal elections show the predicted gains for CDU, far right, and strong finish for Left Party. Massive losses for the former coalition partners (except the greens who almost reach their 2021 results). Free Democrats are currently poised to miss the 5% threshold.

Funnily they asked that question in this survey. And of course, more than 50% of those in favour are not willing to accept cuts to other policy areas.

Ishiba Shigeru is the 103rd Prime Minister of Japan after winning the run-off in the diet. It seems none of the opposition parties voted for him but Noda Yoshihiko, the leader of the CDP was not able to convince enough of them to give him their vote either. www.yomiuri.co.jp/politics/202...
