It seems like every new release I pick up these days is written in present tense. I find it distracting - what’s with this trend? And am I the only one who prefers the more traditional past tense when reading?

I see a lot of memes about cats saying they have no food when there’s plenty in their bowl.
I also see a lot of memes about how if there’s no snacks or microwaveable food, there may as well be no food in the house.

I know that it’s not what it means, but I feel like it SHOULD be that if the weather app is like (🌧️ 50%) then half of that hour it won’t be raining.

Once I returned to work from leave with all my colleagues freaking out at me because the “internal” auto-response on my emails was, “Fix it yourself. I’ve run away to join the circus.”

Every time Word gives me the dashed blue underline and tells me I could be more concise with this phrasing I hear the great Robin Williams reminding me of the importance of language.

Just received a sales call in response to an insurance query. After I hung up on them I looked them up in my email.
The call was legit. The quote I requested was in February 2021.
3.5 year turnaround must be some kind of record!

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but POV means point of view. If you’re making a video that is actually of you doing the thing you’re saying “POV: …” that isn’t your Point of View, it’s just a video of you doing the thing.
