cont 2: astarion later tries to kill them again to preemptively save his own skin (since kelemvorites famously hate vampires). ronnie–of course–wakes up, confronts him, and he lies about his motivations (dialogue basically the same as canon). they end up making the blood drinking deal

cont: continues their investigation of a certain vampire lord and actually gets really close... aaand is captured the same time astarion is; he was sent to kill them! (fun fact: this is also why he's the assassin subclass in my canon playthrough). they don't know this until way later though

pre-game: undergoing clerical training in baldur's gate under mortarch scyre (there's a temple to kelemvor in baldur's gate, mentioned in the infernal tides comics). starts hearing and investigating rumors about a vampire lord kidnapping people
