#tavqotd and part 2! at the beginning of the game they tend to just cower alone (the nightmares tend to make them paranoid), but later on they become more comfortable with crawling into someone else's tent. it comforts them to see that their companions are fine

from a distance, it would seem to be just zombies. but under the surface these nightmares are actually metaphor for loss of personal agency and helplessness. its what leads them to have such sympathy for their companions and open up to them
