Top 5 and Top 10 singles respectively aren’t minor hits but I do agree they peaked creatively here. Bassline alone on TCALS was groundbreaking and been copied and sampled to death ever since.

I’m no fan but “following just behind the zeitgeist” is a bit dismissive. Yeah she borrowed heavily but brought a lot of underground and alternative stuff mainstream/to a wider audience.
