FACTS about Andrew Jackson / a mini-🧵:

1. He strongly supported—and profited from—slavery: During his lifetime (1767-1845), Jackson went from poverty to wealth because he personally embraced the institution of slavery.

1/2
J. D. Vance has cited Andrew Jackson to justify the idea that a president can disobey the federal judiciary’s rulings. The historical record says no such thing.

Vance is either an ignoramus or a liar. I opt for both views of our deceitful Vice President.

When Donald Trump and his followers go in search of historical forerunners to justify their regime, they turn with striking regularity to the presidency

Predominantly Black churches are supporting the effort to preserve the Smithsonian African American history museum after President Trump's order alleging Smithsonian exhibits had disparaged the nation’s history via a “divisive, race-centered ideology.”
Black churches back embattled Smithsonian African American history museum after Trump’s order
The museum tells the history of slavery and segregation, while also highlighting the determination and successes of Black America through history.

This is all bluster: 38% of the total population of Speaker Johnson's district are enrolled in Medicaid.

Also FYI: the mother of Johnson’s chief of staff is CEO of a rural hospital in the district, which relies on Medicaid patients for revenue.
Mike Johnson on Medicaid: "What we've talked about is returning work requirements ... you return the dignity of work to young men who need to be out working instead of playing video games all day. We have a lot of fraud, waste, and abuse in Medicaid."

While this is a victory for Congressional GOP, ALL of them know it is a hollow one. They want to cut 21% of the federal budget.

71% is Social Security, defense, and Medicare, along with interest on debt.

That leaves 28% to cut, if you take out law enforcement.

There is NO CONSENUS PATH.

FACT: Under the Biden presidency, more than 800,000 manufacturing jobs have been added to the economy.
BARTIROMO: Increasingly people are expecting we're heading for a recession. I spoke with a CEO over the wknd, he said we're already in one. So how do you deal with that?

BESSENT: What the CEO may have alluded to is that the manufacturing sector under the previous administration was in a recession.

Imagine:

Wks ago, the Democrats hold firm and let the Gvnt shutdown.

While it is STILL SHUT DOWN, Trump moves forward with Tariffs he enacted over the last 2 days.

Imagine the world we'd be in and tell me if Schumer wasn't right, because as hard as it is for me...I think he got it right.
April 5, 2025 at 2:42 PM
ALL: It can take anywhere from 2 to 5 years (or even longer) t build a manufacturing factory, from start to operational. Why would company's do this, when they could just WAIT until a new administration comes in and changes the tariff policy?

ALARM Here! Federal employees typically receive unlimited cellular plans for data. It it more secure. Plus, why would you be using your personal device at work, on the work network? That is typically not allowed....there are even regulations AGAINST doing it.

So, read below: IT IS A TRAP!

If Homan was arrested for a crime, he would be HOLLERING FROM THE ROOFTOPS for due process....

just sayin.
KARL: Do they have any due process at all?

HOMAN: Due process -- what was Laken Riley's due process?

(That's a "no")

You can't make this stuff up, folks.

Yet Elon said this about his Cybertruck: "...it is an amazing product....(but) there will be enormous challenges in reaching volume production with the Cybertruck..."

No s--t!
Tesla is recalling nearly all Cybertrucks after it found that an exterior trim panel was falling off and creating hazardous driving conditions, the company said on Thursday. This is the eighth recall for the model.

The recall of about 46,000 vehicles includes all models that were manufactured from November 2023, when the Cybertruck was first produced, through February.

Ridiculous: in the same breathe, Leavitt says the judge needs to be impeached and removed; AND, that the judiciary is a CO-EQUAL branch of government...
Reporter to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt:

"Do you think it's a good use of Congress' time and the president's political capital to try to impeach and remove a federal judge which would take 67 votes you're unlikely to get in the Senate?"

So....they are TELLING THE COURT what its orders are subject to? Good luck with that.
REPORTER: Was it the president himself who directed the planes to stay in the air after the judge ordered them to turn back?

LEAVITT: All of the planes that were subject to the judge's written order took off before the order was submitted in court

FYI: those aren't Democrats, people (they haven't won this seat in over 33 years). In fact, Baumgartner won this seat with 60% of the vote. So, he is in DANGER.

I know many, including me, feel the way that Sunny feels...HOWEVER, when I also look honestly at what the Sen is saying, he has very good points. The POTUS does have SWEEPING powers to prioritize what is/isn't essential during a government shutdown, including the courts' facilities.

Misinformation is powerful: $619M was spent this two months before the election on Google and Meta alone.

To give you an idea of what this means, if you make one click=$.01 in cost, you get 100M clicks per $1M spent.

This means, >61B(!) clicks were generated.

That's 117 clicks per person in US.
Immigrant neighborhoods, whether they’re white or Hispanic or Asian or African, you really see these absolutely massive shifts against Democrats. Trump won Corona in Queens. Immigrants go from a D+27 group in 2020 to a potentially R+1 group in 2024.”

This is a BIG problem:

TIKTOK: 20% of the videos returned contained misinformation.
FACEBOOK: 15% of frequent social media news-sharers were behind up to 40% of the fake news circulating.
TWITTER: false news being 70% more likely to be retweeted.

So, OF COURSE, young folks voted more to the right.

Bessent is a HEDGE FUND MANAGER. He did it for George Soros. Soros invested $1B in Bessent's fund, when he went out on his own.

He knows full well that this ain't normal. He is plain lying to the American people.
WELKER: Worst week for the market in two years -- does that worry you, Mr Secretary?

BESSENT: Not at all. I can tell you corrections are healthy. They're normal.

If one thing is clear, like Putin, Trump cannot be trusted.
1. A few hours after posting yesterday’s edition of the Editorial Board, in which I said the Senate Democrats should not cave to the demands of blackmail, Chuck Schumer took to the floor and said that he, as one of his party’s leading figures, would cave to the demands of blackmail.
The Democrats can’t save a government that Trump is already shutting down
All they can do is choose whether to be a party to evil.
