59 defences (I think), 59 defeats. Shows the reality of Reform is often not for voters expected.

Reform are surging. We're currently sleep walking into a hard right government. Rebellious Labour MPs, along with a poorly performing cabinet and Comms department are handing the country to Reform.

That's true of Boris and Truss, but there is little difference between Sunak and Kier. They both feel like decent people who lack the charisma and direction to hold together their parties. Like Sunak, if Kier can't stop rebellions at every turn, Labour are doomed.

Totally agree. A split and arguing Labour government will hand victory to Reform. The LibDems and greens may pick up some Labour votes and win a few more seats, however, this will be little consolation if Farage is the PM with a landslide.

To be fair, we would have made a similar pitch if we were in their position - it was a rational position based on historic data and current opinion polls. Clearly, an amazing campaign from the local LibDem party - biggest question... Why didn't we stand in the previous 5 elections?

Every political party needs to wake up to the fact that Reform are surging - the party is emboldened, it's supporters motivated, and voters like to choose a winner. Any party who ignores the Reform surge will lose big.

The numbers may be off, but we would be naïve to assume all those who tactically voted LibDem in the 'blue wall' will now remain LibDem voters. I can believe the reform switch - many soft LibDem voters in 24, chose us as the alternative - reform are making this position their own.
June 22, 2025 at 2:04 PM
As strange as it seems, from my experience canvassing, both the LibDems and Reform are seen as alternatives to the big two established parties. Therefore voters looking for change may vote LibDem and then Reform.

Most people in today's party joined after Clegg. He left the party after the coalition destroyed the LibDems, he hasn't had a role with the party since.
May 26, 2025 at 10:08 PM
We've moved on. He has little if any connection with the party.
May 24, 2025 at 3:29 PM
Not sure that's true. Coalition almost destroyed the party. Huge lessons have been learnt since then on both coalitions and manifesto promises. The party has been rebuilt since Clegg left.
May 24, 2025 at 3:26 PM
Clearly your spectrum is wrong, however, even if it wasn't surely there's a big difference between far right a centre left?
May 19, 2025 at 10:24 PM
Most on the left in England are remainers and believe in removing barriers between places rather than creating them.
May 16, 2025 at 10:31 PM
It's not their policy.
May 16, 2025 at 10:29 PM
The Greens in Scotland are a totally different party, with their own policies etc... Greens in Scotland are supporters of independence, they aren't in England - a case of political opportunism.
