Read the letter from Juan Hernández, ex president of Honduras and convicted drug kingpin, to Trump, requesting a pardon. The well-crafted letter shows how easily T can be manipulated. Obviously the letter was written by his attorney or others supporting Hernández. It played into T’s weaknesses.
Read Former Honduran President’s Letter to Trump
The New York Times has obtained the four-page letter that former President Juan Orlando Hernández of Honduras sent President Trump.

I shake my head when seeing that Juan Orlando Hernández, former president of Honduras and convicted drug kingpin, was pardoned by Trump. T orders blowing up boats with people inside who his cohorts suspect of drug smuggling—all without proof. What hypocrisy! Impeach and convict T.

Words matter. Instead of “radical” in the quote below, why not “moderate” or even “different”?

From the Guardian today,
“… the US and Ukraine said they had created an ‘updated … peace framework’ to end the war with Russia, hours after European countries proposed their own radical alternative ….”

ALERT RED HERRING&REDEFINITION ATTACKS

K. Leavitt’s attack on Mamdani as a communist is a red herring argument involving redefinition of “democratic socialist” to “communist”. Personal attacks and redefinitions are forms of distortion of truth and lying. Call out these fallacies. Hold to truth.

Could it be that Hegseth has fired nine or more top military leaders because he knows they will refuse to follow illegal and unconstitutional orders issued by Trump and him? Is Hegseth clearing the way to use the US military against Americas who protest Trump’s illegal acts?

The NYT in an editorial today rated 12 of Trump’s authoritarian traits on a scale of democracy to authoritarianism. Thus NYT presumes degrees of authoritarianism. So when the military quells free speech, the NYT says it’s 25% authoritarian. No it’s 100%. NYT then diverts attention from the danger.

On Sat 10/18, I saw 2 Border Patrol agents in full battle gear rush across DC’s Union Station. I thought sarcastically someone had been reported speaking Spanish. I didn’t know how true my thought was. A 10/27 NYT editorial stated “Some Latinos are now afraid to speak Spanish…” Oppressive fear!🙁

Writing posts on Bluesky forces me to reject this view of Blaise Pascal:

“If I had more time, I would have written a shorter letter.”

Yes, Blaise Pascal. This quote has been attributed to Mark Twain, GB Shaw, Voltaire, Goethe, Churchill, Cicero, Bill Clinton & Benjamin Franklin.

Publishers of history, civics, social studies & other human-centered curricula have altered their materials under ultra-right political pressures. Also several major publishers have withdrawn books & educational materials from the market. nyti.ms/47K1hUU
How Politics Is Changing the Way History Is Taught
History lessons are being wiped from the internet, and California is retreating from ethnic studies, as education swings away from curriculums that are seen as too progressive.

Coal miners are holding their breaths for Trump to enforce Biden-era carcinogenic limits on silica dust.
The Biden-era limits require ventilation in mines for miners’ lung protection. The coal industry wants to use respirators only. Miners say that respirators are not

I tied to send you a dm as you said but I seem to not get it through.

I viewed the Senate judicial hearing with AG Pam Bondi. Dems questions often were met by Bondi saying she can’t answer. Her responses were the opposite for Repubs.

Her answers were defensive ad hominem attacks against Democrats and non sequiturs to their questions. She acted woefully at best.

TRUMP SENDS NATIONAL GUARD TO PORTLAND, OR

I sent this text to my 2 PA Senators (see reply for continuation).

This is a disgrace! Trump has sent national guard troops into Portland, Oregon. Please stand up for America against Trump who would take away free speech and other civil rights.

Trump wrote about the shutdown, “I can’t believe the Radical Left Democrats gave me this unprecedented opportunity.” Me, me, me! What about us – the American people? Meanwhile, Dems are focused on we the people against Rep. cuts where millions couldn’t see a doctor, get prescriptions, food, etc.

I just heard Ken Burns make a most remarkable observation about the American form of government. I paraphrase: the title of the highest position in American government is citizen.

Patel’s incompetency as FBI Director keeps coming forth. Rather than work with agents in the FBI office in Utah to find the killer of Charlie Kirk, he cussed them out.

DEI values are really church values.

Diversity—We welcome you as you are.

Equity—We believe all “are created equal, …endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights.”

Inclusion—We include everyone who comes here into the life of this community of caring and love.

The US health secretary, Robert F Kennedy Jr, clashed today with the Senate Finance Committee.

My conclusion was that Kennedy was untruthful, ill informed, evasive and incompetent. He doesn’t understand scientific research and its application.

If some act ruthless, heartless, pitiless, unjust, immoral, and illegal, many in power will shrug, make excuses, lie and walk away—saying that doesn’t make wealth or money. Say an act will lose money or cost too much, those powerful ones will turn around and most often act with sordid intentions.

What if the world leaders and people of good will across the world would just turn their backs on Putin and Trump? Other nations would form their own alliances leaving out the US and Russia.

Unrealistic? Yes. Simplistic? Yes Crazy? Maybe. But what if Putin and Trump threw a party and no one came?

My observation about our criminal and negligent Trump regime:

Christi Noem secretary of homeland security said of the Guadalupe disaster.

“Texas is strong” but also noted, “We, as a federal government, don’t manage these disasters. The state does.”
