Yellow-Rumped Warbler is one of the few warblers that can digest wax from berries, helping it survive in colder months when insects are scarce. Its bright yellow patches & lively personality make it a favorite for birdwatchers! Endearingly called Butter butt for the yellow patch on the rump. #birds

These bold little birds are a joy to watch at feeders, often announcing their presence with a loud, musical song that seems too big for their tiny bodies. Unlike many wrens, they stick around all year, braving the cold winter months.

Pine siskins are brown and very streaky birds with subtle yellow edgings on wings and tails. When food is scarce, they travel in nomadic flocks, often mixing with goldfinches at backyard feeders. Keep an eye out for their delicate yellow wing bars and their chatty, buzzy calls. #birds #nomads

The White-breasted Nuthatch is recognized by its sleek white chest, steel-blue back, & unique habit of foraging headfirst down tree trunks. Like the smaller Red-breasted Nuthatch, it’s a skilled tree navigator, but it’s more commonly found in deciduous forests rather than conifers. #birds #nuthatch

Highly social & often found in groups, Cedar Waxwings are a great winter surprise. Watch for these masked birds feasting on berries or flying in flocks. They love cedar tree berries (hence their name!), & their high-pitched calls keep the flock connected as they forage. #birds #cedarwaxwings
