Evangelizing for Morena’s brand of politics. The fate of our country depends on it.

Remember what a scandal it was that he told the truth in this way?

I just find it so fascinating that Catholic integralists make up the top of the Christian nationalist food chain, a movement which in the American tradition has traditionally been deeply Catholic-skeptic. Time marches on.

Republican politics is a gateway drug to groyperism
November 11, 2025 at 11:07 PM
Similar to what WCW did to themselves with Goldberg. You know, except without all the nagging scandalous stuff about Lesnar.

Except it seems they are trying to say that *they themselves* are the real representatives of Trump’s agenda. Not those groyper cranks over there. “We believe everything Trump believes, except we’re not crazy like Tucker Carlson.” Like, uhh, ok?

Yeah. My experience is that when right wingers talk about liberty, they really mean “my preferred group at the expense of everyone else.”

It’s much easier to be right wing in this world. You can destroy things. Assault people. Kill people. Wreck economies. Appeal to people base emotions in blaming the other guy for the things you’ve destroyed/assaulted/killed/wrecked. It’s easy.

You need to smile more

Also, it certainly is *everyone’s* job to convince people of the right thing to do when it comes to civic engagement in a society. This idea that we can simply stick our heads in the sand because “it’s not our job” to teach has set all progressive politics by multiple generations.

Who said anything about women teaching men anything? I’m looking for solutions here. Not blame. I think it’s part of the problem that as soon as men have a problem a lot of other people say “hey! It’s not women’s fault!” Yeah, duh. That’s an entirely different sentence than what I said.
November 11, 2025 at 4:02 PM
Seems that all these weird little misogynists are someone’s brother, husband, father, son. And any kind of societal healing is going to require some form of national deprogramming. So what really is the problem is the cause isn’t real or male-specific? I have ideas, but I’d like to hear yours.

A bit outdated. I prefer his simple slogan “eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants.”

The foods designed to accentuate taste, texture, mouthfeel, anything pleasurable enough to override the satiety signals in the brain. Try eating three apples in one sitting vs. an entire bag of Doritos.

They don’t have friends. They don’t have partners. They’re alienated from their parents. And men have been told to out-macho their feelings for as long as eternity. It doesn’t explain the current situation.

The point is that MAGA doesn’t believe in anything

Seems like enough senators still have “senate institution” brain. I imagine a lot of glad handing and smoke-filled room wheeling and dealing. It doesn’t seem like giving up to them because they’re all friends.
November 10, 2025 at 10:02 PM
Good.
November 10, 2025 at 9:49 PM
Yeah. Participation trophies are good when trying to train a kid to “show up” for a difficult task. I think we elect and hire senators to do more than just “show up.”
November 10, 2025 at 8:54 PM
Who said anything about “succeeding”? I’m talking about the sharpest spike in the face of a larger mental health crisis affecting all young people regardless of gender.

I guess we will

The filibuster elimination would have forced the Republicans to open the government themselves at the cost of abolishing the Obamacare subsidies. Which would have cratered their popularity even more. It would have been a monkey’s paw.

Teenage boys and young men have seen the biggest increase in suicides, biggest increases in depression, biggest increases in addiction, largest degradation in incomes, in educational achievement, etc. And it isn’t just “white ones.” Maybe therapy is a good option. But why and why at this scale?
