The problem with services you get for free is
1. you can't file tickets
2. you can't fix them

k8s API Machinery is tempting, but honestly it’s a tarpit for new contributors
August 31, 2025 at 2:24 AM
I may be wrong but k8s do you need to have this many repos??

are you sure mate??
August 31, 2025 at 2:08 AM
letting your user choose if they want a CRD or not is the worst design decision that you can ever make in #k8s.
August 31, 2025 at 2:06 AM
deleting CRDs might result in deleting resources that have CRD in them. THIS seems slightly outrageous.

maybe we could have done this better in terms of not deleting the resources rather marking it or doing some sort of explicit operation.

Hard and fast is progress. Hard and slow is just punishment to yourself.
August 31, 2025 at 1:48 AM
given the amount of #KEPs that are currently in an abandoned state and a lot of dangling ideas and improvements

this might be hard and slow.
August 31, 2025 at 1:47 AM
so if you are a new contributor or looking to contribute to kubernetes...

looks like anything related to networking in k8s is pretty much slow.
and if you are impatient one like me who can't sit for 5 minutes. it's gonna be tough for you.

https://www.youtube.com/... - struggles of the kubernetes community

we should have more videos like this. which talks about the bad decisions we made as a community.
