Friendly reminder that you, yes you reading this, are so so important to the movements and communities you belong to. You may think you're 'just one person,' but please trust me when I say that your continued existence and powerful voice are more valuable weapons against bigotry than you could know.

I often forget just how hated zoos are. The subject came up today, in class. Pure disgust from every other student in the room at the mere mention of zoophilia. I laughed it off, halfheartedly pretending to agree. It was such a slap to the face.

I am not safe among my peers. And that really hurts.

It really is fascinating how differently people treat sex, vs every other animal urge and experience. One of the most natural, diverse, and beautifully raw aspects of existence, and all we do is label it and shame others for doing it wrong. Sex is only as mystical and polarizing as we make it.

Pornographic art is art.

I love ao3 because there's so little purity culture. Sure, you'll see the occasional hate comment, but for the most part folks will simply tag out the stuff they don't want to see and leave the authors alone. With the internet so full of anti-fic sentiment, ao3 is a breath of fresh air.
