Outside of both depicting a nation attacking another with fire, no?
Avatar it's the final big bad attack and the what/why was clearly conveyed (it failed)
WoW one was "look at this cool image" for marketing, nothing more, and they half-assed the explanations years later

He brings up all of MaRo's points -- design intent, desire for cards to "work the same" in all formats, "intuitiveness", and how the primary reason for the change is making design's job easier (+UB issues) -- and gives his arguments against
Genuinely baffled you watched both and didn't catch that?

That's very kind of you to offer! I was trying to buy it as a Christmas gift for my partner and unfortunately don't plan on being in Canada until next year. I'll get him something else, it's not a big deal

Black is the "enemies of Avatar" color and the theme is definitely the weakest. It's the Sacrifice color (creatures + artifacts), no bending of its own. It has various sac outlets and death triggers, and it generates Clues to sac but also fuels firebending and waterbending.

Yeah idk. Looking at Avatar Jumpstart there's a handful of cards that reward you for casting on opposing turns, but it's so minor, why not reinforce Blue's main theme?
I can only guess. Maybe waterbending changed late in development and this somehow wasn't updated?
