Texas has a $32.7 billion (estimated 2022-23 figure) “rainy day fund.” It only took approximately 200+ deaths (I’m including the missing) for Abbott to open the purse strings. I hope he decides to repair our power grid, which cost 200 lives a few years ago, & fund our public schools but I doubt it.

Our political leaders in Texas have failed miserably in protecting us & especially our children. Abbot, Patrick, & Paxton failed miserably in Uvalde & Kerrville. We have a “rainy day” fund in the billions in the state treasury. Hasn’t it rained enough for us to get some sort of umbrella?
