Diana Nyad Finally Got Her Plaque | Defector
Daniel Slosberg is the Tom Joad of Diana Nyad’s bullshitting. Whenever she’s out there beatin’ up the truth, he’ll be there.  So Slosberg was in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. earlier this month as town offici...

Brilliant film
If you're looking for an Udo Kier film to watch, may I recommend BACURAU (2019), starts off like a worthy slice of sociopolitical realism and ends up as demented Brazilian neo-western exploitation. Don't read anything else, just see it. Contains one of my favourite film moments of the 21st century.

A moment, please, to consider the absolute majesty of Daphne Oram's unbelievable score to this. A pitch shifted, time stretched, frequency agile glimpse of the future of music production; a liberty-taking all analogue remix of Sandy Nelson's Teen Beat realised in real time with the visuals.

Every office has an executive tier whose emails are like:

saw on news , , can we replce complianc dept with web 3

and a worker tier whose emails are like:

Dear Jim,
First of all, I *love* this idea! Unfortunately, I spoke with Legal and identified a few issues with this approach. For starters…
Well, it's a little clearer now why billionaires are so invested in technology that produces better written emails.

The Unutterable is the best 21st C LP by the mighty Fall; or is this visionary work concerning Pete Tong, ket & soup, their best period?

Every year the same. Clocks go back. *Time itself* manipulated- ‘for farmer’. And every year the farmer next door to me luxuriates in slumber, delights in lethargy, stews in nod. His fields? fallow; his livestock unattended; his fine machines rusting. Rise, man! Sew; gather; *make hay*

Remember folks. The original bluesky ethos by us bluesky elders (apparently I count?) is block and move on.

Don't quote dunk, don't pick fights.
Block, and move on.

This is what made this site unpalatable to the right early on, and we can continue to make it unpalatable to them.

it's fucking insane that this is the current situation in America
This morning, I was hit in the face by a baton.

I’m going to have a pretty gnarly bruise but we need to remember why this is happening: Trump and ICE are rounding up our neighbors, treating them as subhuman, and shipping them off to labor camps in foreign countries. It has to end.

What a game this was
Skies of Arcadia first released 25 years ago! (10/5/00)

This seminal Dreamcast JRPG sees the player controlling a band of Sky Pirates, flying around the world in an Air-Ship, a la FFVI, exploring dungeons and towns!

Interestingly, the Map starts blank; the player must manually chart the World!!
