Creativity comes down to inspiration. Look online and see what sonas make you go Whoa. Obviously don't copy wholesale but mixing and matching favorite elements is a great starting point.

Most of the time it just comes from. I kinda like that animal/color. Most people have their sonas or ocs change over time so really it just is what you want at the moment. Perhaps you want markings on it from a game or series you enjoy. I liked green and black, and only discovered bat recently.
