Walter Koenig as Commander Pavel Chekov, William Shatner as Captain James T. Kirk, and James Doohan as Captain Montgomery Scott as guests of honor at the maiden voyage of the Enterprise-B. Early versions of the script for STAR TREK GENERATIONS, penned by TNG writers Brannon Braga and Ronald D. Moore, featured Kirk boarding the Enterprise-B with McCoy and Spock. However, both DeForest Kelley and Leonard Nimoy (who was also offered the opportunity to direct the film) declined offers to reprise their roles. According to Moore in 2008, "Leonard turned down the script, turned down the director’s chair on the film and I knew he didn’t like the script. It is hard to say at this point he was wrong."
