Get the Redington CT. Go to a local fly shop if possible, they'll recommend a good inexpensive reel & decent line. This is a rod you won't immediately want to upgrade out of as you learn (vs. the others you listed)

Ahhh I see. I really like the cam style. Makes it easier to adjust during tying, like flipping a parachute fly sideways, etc.

Where are you seeing the new traveler with a screw jaw? I read the only difference was a wider base and the material clip coming included.

I've always wondered, why use dry fly hackle for this style of hopper? It's supposed to imitate legs, which soft hackle would do IN & on the water and without changing the floating angle of the fly.
