We are so conditioned to believe that our economy and lives are zero sum games that we have lost the capacity to empathize with the challenges of our neighbors.

I reject the shackles of this frame.

Injustice is injustice whether it’s happening to you or to a stranger.

I want you to be free.

I have a 7 year old daughter. She’ll be nearly 11 when this presidential term ends.

When I was her age, George H. W. Bush was President and, at age 9, I vividly remember Bill Clinton’s victory in 1992.

I admired him. I revered the presidency.

Our kids are watching and these years matter.

What if… just maybe… DOGE was never intended to find any savings but merely to provide pretext for Tesla/SpaceX to surreptitiously gather/destroy protected information and undermine regulatory authorities actively seeking to prosecute the companies?

HASSETT: There's an ongoing negotiation with Russia and Ukraine and he made the decision not to conflate the two issues

The Overton window refers to the range of policies considered politically acceptable at any time. It defines the boundaries of public discourse—what’s seen as acceptable for politicians and media to discuss without seeming extreme.

The Overton window has been introduced to the Trump wood chipper.

What’s the end game for the GOP members of Congress in swing districts/states?

It seems to me, only one of two outcomes awaits:

(1) Trump is successful in consolidating power under a Unity Executive and toppling democracy. In which case, Congress renders itself useless.

According to the Department of Education, more than 2 million student loan borrowers currently qualify for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (#PSLF). Trump's executive order puts those borrowers in danger of no longer qualifying, leaving thousands in limbo with their loans. www.epi.org/policywatch/...

This will hurt Red and Blue districts.

Nothing is off limits.

They’ll cut everything that isn’t a subsidy to the wealthy just to… [checks notes]… provide more subsidies to the wealthy.

When do just 8 congressional Republicans get the courage to save their own political careers?
This will hurt kids. This will hurt farmers. How do you explain to a hungry child or a family farmer that their president would rather give tax breaks to the billionaires than to support all Americans?
