StL folks- My husband drove from U City to 2nd street near the brewery. Said roads were not great- about 430 this morning. Took the highway and said it was just as bad. I think if you can work from home today that’s the way to go. If you’re out- take it slow and give people room. 🤷🏻‍♀️ #stlwx

Say what you want about the VA (and most criticism has been wrongly aimed at VA instead of Congress) …

But no one has ever said the problem with the VA is too many people work there.

This is inexcusable. news.va.gov/press-room/v...

STL- looking for connections to short term rental or lease from mid March-end of Mayish- preferably furnished and within reasonable drive of washu. We have friends moving here but coming in shifts and one of them needs housing until everyone else can join and then can look for a house. Any ideas?

At this point I just would like a chilled Sauvignon Blanc to go with my spicy Chinese food. And all I have is red wine. I’m just having food issues this week, clearly. And all the small straws are about to break me.

Today I cried at dinner. It was a long day and I still had one more meeting at 7pm so my husband said let’s order takeout. I am allergic to red onions. I opened my dinner and diced up red onions all in there. Cried and then made myself sad random meal instead. Just like can we get a small break?! 😩

Trump, Vance, Hegseth, and Combs all said they were briefed on the collision, so they all knew about this internal FAA report when they went on TV to blame minorities for the crash.

My god. If it all is feeling like too much that’s because it is. Things will likely only get more unsafe and you can really just apply that to whatever you think I mean at this point. But my god. 😞

The thing about leopards who eat faces is that when they run out of other faces they’ll eat yours. It won’t matter how much you supported them or did their bidding. Eventually there will be no other faces left to eat and they’ll still be hungry.

All I can really say at this point is if everyone isn't watching how trans people have lost basic rights and protections on a scale that hasn't been seen in decades in the span of 72 hours and realizing that even if you aren't trans there's nothing stopping it from happening to you, you're a fool

I don’t have adequate words. Those of us paying attention knew it could and likely would get this bad. What I honestly didn’t anticipate was how fast it would happen.
Getting close to Number 4.
Step 1 - set free militants loyal to you

Step 2 - demonize marginalized segments of society

Step 3 - purge civil servants and oversight <—— you are here

Step 4 - claim authority to rule by decree

Step 5 - fascism

A truly horrifying Monday.

In tonight’s Law Dork, I tried to inform about the anti-trans and anti-diversity military executive orders — and also capture the spirit of why Monday, writ large, was so bad.

Courage and faith in action.
Rev. Mariann Edgar Budde to Trump: "I ask you to have mercy upon the people in our country who are scared now. There are gay, lesbian, and transgender people in Democratic, Republican, and independent families, some who fear for their lives ... and the vast majority of immigrants are not criminals"

As I make this chicken chili I wonder. Does this all end like WW2 and we fight the nazis or is it more like a “let them eat cake” situation or some combo of the two, DEAR GOD.

I am very tired of snow. I am not a fan of winter generally and all this snow is not helping.

Wow. So shocked that this was the next step… shocked, I say.
The Republican majority on the North Carolina Supreme Court blocked the certification of a Democratic justice’s victory, “opening the door to them just flat-out stealing an election the Democrats won narrowly but fair and square,” says @chrislhayes.bsky.social.

Currently sobbing in ‘where the hell do I put all this snow.’ Our driveway is nearly 100’ long and there is no space on the side of the driveway because there is another house. It’s too much snow. There will be many snow mountains before I am done and they will never melt.

Either I’m going crazy or we just had some thunder in U City?? Yup, just got the lightning detected near your location notification from KMOV app. Thunder snow is not a thing we want. #stlwx

If it’s noon does that mean we can now enjoy the beer we stocked up on for the snow day from our favorite local breweries? Just saw Schnucks are all closing early. Stay home. St. Louis is closed for business. #stlwx

Mostly sleet overnight in U City. About 830-9am it went fully snow. Huge flakes. Looks like it’s tapered a bit for now but I doubt we’re done. #stlwx

Elon Musk is fine with the government shutting down because he’s worth nearly $500 billion and will not be impacted

Meanwhile members of the military, TSA agents, and postal workers — people with families to support — will be forced to work without pay
