Have you ever read Legends of Le Detroit (1883) by Marie Caroline Watson Hamlin? There is a version of this story in there, as all of the stories center in and around the Detroit area, including those lands and tales across the Detroit River and Lake St. Clair (Canada, of course). Love the print!

They did have this high-pitched chant thing going as they swayed back and forth, slowly.

Ha, I did not. There were about 50 other Keepers of the Hill, as well, so there could have been trouble.

Yeah,m I guess that they are. Some kid made me laugh. He seemed set back a bit that I had a skeleton mask on underneath.
