A study made by Stanford presented by @yegordb.bsky.social showed that increase in developer speed using AI is true, but not as much as the companies that sell the product make it out to be.

This number aligns a lot more with my own experience.

A chart illustrating the productivity increases in software engineering from AI use, comparing greenfield and brownfield projects. It shows that greenfield projects gain 35-40% on simple tasks and 10-15% on complex asks, while brownfield projects see increases of 15-20% on simple tasks and 0-10% on complex tasks. The chart is divided into quadrants based on task complexity (high vs. low) and project maturity (greenfield vs. brownfield).

I do not know of any other place to put this, so I am sharing my feedback here for the @firefox.com browser

- I really miss the built-in Chromecast feature, and the plug-ins are not working well enough to be a full replacement.

- I'm a heavy user of PWAs and often install web apps as desktop apps

Such a great talk, Scott 👌 I can only agree with your feelings on this one. Personally, I can't help but feel doom and gloom with the growing usage of AI, the adoption of MCP, and people moving more and more over to AI apps.
