After 45 years in high tech doing things I never did before, I’m retired and writing novels, writing and publishing comic books — things I never did before 😉.
As others have said, I could really use new posts from you.

Discovering this story, and the fact that it was written and published by people who were already characters in my book, was wonderful—helping me understand the time, the setting, and La Maupin’s place in society. It’s the subject of the latest article on my La Maupin website. 3/3

On the one hand, the modern terminology & concepts of “gender identity,” homosexuality, “assigned sex,” & such are completely alien to seventeenth-century Paris. On the other, the sexual mores, ethics, attitudes, practices, & laws of that time are even more complex than we usually acknowledge…. 2/

For me it was a fun ride, strange & innovative. The characters varied from interesting to likable, frustrating, both believable and fantastic. I have rewatched a lot of the episodes (season N-1 before watching N or stumbling upon it while looking for something & rewatching an episode or three).

I cannot say that you will love the show or be satisfied with the ending, but it is written to have a beginning, a middle and an end. It a quirky story about peculiar people, none of whom are completely lovable nor completely evil.
