Like, yeah, yeah, you have your Groundwork of the Metaphysics for Morals and What Do We Owe Each Other and Man's Search for Meaning but in the end there's still no greater philosophical analysis of the plight of humanity than this.

Thank you! I will take a look.

Relatedly, if anyone knows of a publicly available corpus of people talking about the Murderbot books (podcast transcripts? forums?), please share. As I have commented before, it has been super interesting to track what pronouns people use for Murderbot vs ART.

It's not even technically incorrect, but it took me a moment to realize that because I have two middle names and I never ever use that one on its own.

It definitely took me two separate conversations about the time zone difference before I remembered that the Dodgers are in LA.

If I had the money, I’d buy up a bunch of rural radio stations, play alt-country, bluegrass, and old time, and hire progressive pastors as the hosts. They could preach actual Christian values like tolerance, equity, etc. Labor organizers as invited guests. A counter to religious right talk radio

I am OUTRAGED at how much getting more regular sleep, drinking less coffee, and cutting down on edibles improved my mental health almost immediately*.

In some languages the same verb is (or can be) used for both. In Spanish, for example, it looks like "tejer" can be used for basically any fibre craft (though more specific verbs seem to exist also); similarly Japanese "amu" (as in "amigurumi") is both "knit" and "crochet".

I definitely didn't mean to shame anyone into deleting! But short version is: both knitting and crochet involve making fabric out of a single length of yarn, but knitting is done with two needles while crochet is done with a single hook. The resulting fabric is quite different also.

Wait, just read the second half of the description. This is just one of those cases where someone doesn't realize that "crochet" and "knit" are not actually interchangeable in English.

I'm getting my shots tomorrow, and just created a reminder to take 2 Aerius (desloratadine) in the morning. Fascinatingly, Siri's voice recognition figured out that's a proper name, but decided it should be spelled "Arious" instead.

Tl:dr I am indefinitely stuck with two emails, which both make my brain itch (in different ways). Appeals to IT have so far been met by unhelpful restatements of the no-changes-ever policy; I am working through my feelings by trying to get them to agree that my initial ticket was ignored.
