NICHE DISCOVERY OF THE DAY: I always liked how the front cover of Cuckooland's "Pop Sensibility" (Damaged Goods, 1995, art credited to Paul Petard) looked like a Tom Paterson comic panel. Just discovered it's based on the first ever panel of a Calamity James strip (1 Nov 86).

Just had a look at Discogs, and The Best of Republica (a) does exist, (b) is called what you think it is, and (c) only has ten tracks on it. Surely they could've rustled up some b-sides? #TOTP

Hope the SteamCube is a bit cheaper thanthe NeXtCube was, though. That said, I *do* hope it launches with a floppy drive.

Very likely preaching to the long-converted here, but Gigantic: A Tale of Two Johns is a must for any TMBG fans. From seeing Michael McKean recite the lyrics to The End Of The Tour, to the Johns promoting their about-to-launch album on The Daily Show on (checks notes) erm, 10 September 2001.
