Nerd, gamer, software developer/engineer. Idk, profile is a WIP.
Buy some ring of duelings, some barrows teleport tablets, your best wind spell, best magic damage boosting gear, rune armor or better, lobsters+ for food, and some prayer potions, and a spade. And head out.

Also the wiki has a really good guide.

Ha been there, often. Will defiantly be that person again frequently I'm sure.

My dev PC, I break almost daily doing something dumb.

I love it.

Personally I love it. Has a bit of a learning curve, and requires thinking about your system differently.

It is simultaneously the most complex and most set and forget distro I've ever used.

My living room entertainment center PC, I set it up once and have never had to tocuh again.

But, now hear me out, have you thought about NicOS instead?

I'll see if I can find the article where I read that. Probably won't be until tomorrow though.

And then they expect you to be managing traffic inside your tailnet with ACLs and Grants so you can trust the whole interface.

I could be wrong, but I think they do this for their NAT traversal shenanigans that they do to smuggle your connection out when you're behind a difficult external firewall.

Can't remember where I read that though....

And OSRS players are still likely to throw a fit when the developers overstep.

The reason OSRS can thrive is that the current devs are passionate, built up trust with the players. And stare down a player base that would rather burn the game to the ground than let the devs do so.

Players are also hesitant, often games that *do* try to use the OSRS model as a framework fall into monetizing gameplay with pay to win mechanics.

What do you mean you want me to trust you not to montetize ways to skip the grind? Jagex had to rebuild that trust up over years and years after rs3.

At its core its a sandbox MMO, you make your own adventure. It can seem intimidating, but you don't have to learn everything all at once!

If you want my advice, I'd recommend giving f2p a try, and do some quests, see if you can make it through Dragon Slayer. If you like(d) it, give p2p a go.

Cudas ramp up at 30, and large salvaging starts to be a viable afk alternative. Sea charting is fun. Port tasks still kinda suck, but bounties are kind of alright.

Yeah and I misspoke, its the Jubbly Jive, it gives a fetid key though!

Got a software dev job. Find I'm still talking for like 6 hours a day. Meetings, mentoring, being mentored. Who knew engineering involved so much talking 😢

Ope, I'll have to go elect another mayor! I may have.... Saved bank space.

I was eating soup when this happened BTW.

Mobile and low draw distance are handicaps for sure.

My phone can barley handle the fetid pool one.

There are some sparkling pools that when you uhh stop your boat on them, let you use the spyglass.

Check out the one just north? Of the Wizards Tower.
