people also don't realize--and the media is doing nothing to teach them--that a hell of a lot of hospitals, clinics, and nursing homes depend on Medicaid to stay open. Cuts of this magnitude will kill local health care for lots of people on private insurance who still think this doesn't affect them

I have to respectfully disagree, the sadism is the point. Wanting total power is an expression of the desire to dominate, to hurt. Destroying democracy, achieving monarchal rule are needed to express the profound sadism that drives Nazis.
