In addition, our 2025 keynote speaker is the distinguished Damion Searls, writer and translator of several #Nobel laureates including Thomas Mann, Elfriede Jelinek and most recently #JonFosse. The keynote is generously supported by NORLA.

On Thursday 10th July, participants will be able to attend a session focusing on translating for the voluntary sector. Hosted by Amélie Tremolo from Translators Without Borders and Lauren Finch, they will explore the career opportunities available to translators keen to work in the sector.

This year's keynote speech will be given by Damion Searls, translator of Nobel laureate #JonFosse and seven other Nobel prize-winners.

Damion works from German, Norwegian, French, and Dutch, and is also the author four books, including 'The Philosophy of Translation'.

We are also delighted that @commapress.bsky.social will be launching its Comma Press Emerging Translator Award at BT2025. Open to translators from #Chinese, #Japanese and #Urdu, winners will be considered for publication in an upcoming anthology!
