Our keynote speech this year will be given by renowned translator Damion Searls. The translator of not one, but seven Nobel laureates, Damion's expertise ranges from complex philosophy to poetry. He is the translator of #JonFosse's work.

Polly Barton's translation of Asako Yuzuki's Butter was named Waterstones Book of the Year 2024. Other work includes Where the Wild Ladies Are by Aoko Matsuda, So We Look to the Sky by Misumi Kubo and Mild Vertigo by Mieko Kanai.

Morgan Giles has translated authors including Yu Miri, Hideo Furukawa, Hitomi Kanehara, and Nao-cola Yamazaki. Her translation of Tokyo Ueno Station by Yu Miri received the Translators Association's First Translation Prize and the National Book Award for Translated Literature.

Some very exciting news from @commapress.bsky.social and Bristol Translates 2025. Open to translators from #Chinese, #Japanese and #Urdu, winners of the Comma Press Emerging Translator Award will be considered for publication in an upcoming anthology! Applications for #BT2025 are still open.
