I feel so lucky to have spent a bunch of time at Teton Raptor Center lately, including speaking about my book, Entwined, there on Monday night. If you're not familiar with their work—which includes raptor rehab, education, and research, do check them out at tetonraptorcenter.org

I'm thrilled to be launching my book, "Entwined: Dispatches from the Intersection of Species," at Bookshop Santa Cruz on July 22! Josie and I will be exploring how writing, art, and science can be braided to inspire human connection with our nonhuman neighbors and advocacy on their behalf.

It's World Aquatic Animal Day! Here's one of my favorites, one who lives just down the street from me. Anthopleura elegantissima, the aggregating anemone. Remember: invertebrates are animals too!

Hey, I've got a book cover! And a website: www.entwinedbook.com. It's not out until July, but I turned the page proofs in yesterday, so we're getting somewhere...

The anchovies were in at the Santa Cruz Wharf again the other day...so fun to watch CA sea lions feeding, rafting, playing, and generally doing their thing with full bellies!

Science may be under attack, but it's still happening. I got to go out with researchers from UCSC's MARINe (Multi-Agency Rocky Intertidal Network) yesterday to count and measure a lot of healthy Pisasters (sea stars) and help with biodiversity surveys. Go #citizenscience! #rockyintertidal #seastar
