There are moments so still the universe forgets which way time is supposed to flow.

I recommend this paper as an overview: pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC...
It is unfortunately not the case that "the harder it gets the more they dig in," as the human brain has remarkable defense mechanisms that surface to enable us to continue functioning under duress.

this book "Surviving Climate Anxiety" came across my feed recently and piqued my interest - has anyone read it? thoughts?

this is a collage I made to describe my purpose statement “for people and planet”

A mentor pointed out that it made her think of “the people’s planet” and “the planet’s people,” which birthed this yin and yang symbol representing the people of the planet and the planet of the people.

San Francisco when climate change was solved.

Mysteriously has a lot more water and a ferry over my house but I am NOT ASKING TOO MANY QUESTIONS.

Wonder is rebellion.
It interrupts cynicism.

lol I face this a lot too. The problem is implicit in the solutions, friends. We wouldn’t need solutions if there wasn’t a problem 😆

I have anecdotally witnessed possibility thinking help people get out of this pendulum state of swinging back and forth between hope and despair but have not found any formal research on the topic.

what it means when our heroes die - thank you Dr. Jane Goodall, Robert Redford & Joanna Macy ❤️
October 2, 2025 at 9:43 AM
For me, Dr. Goodall’s legacy is a call to look after this planet, to care fiercely for the living world, and to never stop believing that small acts matter.

When our heroes die, they don’t really leave us. They live on in the choices we make and the courage we carry forward. 🌍💚

Today, reflecting on her passing, I keep coming back to what it means when our heroes die. It’s not just the grief of losing them.. it’s the realization that their torch is now in our hands. Heroes show us what is possible, and when they’re gone, it becomes our turn to live out their values.

Earlier this year, I had the honor of hearing Jane Goodall speak. Sitting there, listening to her gentle strength and unshakable hope, I felt like I was in the presence of a true hero.
